Bankroll Management Tips for Slots

Let’s start with some thoughts on how slot players can better manage their money.

1 Set a win and loss limit

This tip will save you a lot of time. You don’t have to work out a budget. You don’t have to find out how big the bet is. You don’t need to calculate. As long as you set a limit on wins and a limit on losses, you will end the game and once you hit one of them, you can tick bankroll management off your to-do list.

Slot players have an easy time keeping track of wins and losses. You can follow your game through your slot club card. (We’ll discuss signing up for the Slot Club below.) You can also keep track of your play just by watching how much money you have in the machine.

When we go to the casino to play slots we find out how much money we can lose and then we divide that by the number of hours we want to play. Look at an example. Let’s say you plan on playing ten hours at your nearby casino on a weekend getaway.

You have made your personal budget for the month and bring € 1,000 with you to burn on the slot machines. To have enough money to play ten hours, you cannot afford to lose more than 100 euros an hour. That is, if you lose $ 100 in a given hour, you take a break until the next hour begins.

As for profit limits, that’s more of a personal matter. For some, if they go to the casino with € 1,000 as in the example above, they’ll get nervous if they double it and win another € 1,000.

But up to that point, they would probably keep playing. Maybe you’re more conservative than that. It doesn’t matter where you set the winning limit as long as you have a point where you choose to walk away.

When you set a win limit, you will be held back from turning a big win into a loss.

It can be difficult to stick to profit and loss limits. Wanting to keep playing or playing and making up for losses can be a powerful thing. If it helps, you can recruit a friend to help you stick to your win and lose limits. You can also set yourself an alarm every 45 minutes to measure how you are doing and to remind yourself of your limits. It’s not about annoying yourself about your finances, it’s about keeping the gaming fun and preventing a budget disaster.

2 Play the lowest face value that interests you

This trick is designed to help you expand your bankroll. We have found that newbies to the casino, and especially slots, often have no idea how to choose a machine. They lean towards the € 1 slots because that’s a nice round number that they can understand.

However, not many people go to a slot session willing to play at € 1 per credit games and many of these players watch their bankrolls evaporate.

How do you know which denomination to play? We recommend that you look at all the available denominations and then choose the cheapest one that still piques your interest. Obviously, penny slots offer the least amount of risk, but that’s because they offer the least in terms of rewards.

You won’t get rich playing penny slots, but you probably won’t go broke either. High dollar slots work the other way around – you win more big prizes, and you will play more side games and other features, but you will likely lose a lot of money in a short amount of time.

Choosing a denomination is all about finding your comfort zone. Maybe you hate losing money and you just want to play slots for distraction. Penny slots can be perfect for you in this case.

If you’ve got a sizable amount of cash to blow off slots and you want the latest and greatest slot entertainment, then a high denomination game is probably for the spot.

3 Join the slot club

You should always join the Slots Club, Players Club, Rewards Club, Loyalty Club, or any other club that a casino offers. It doesn’t cost you anything, it’s easy to use (you just swipe it over the slot you want to play before you start), and it’s literally the only way a casino can track and reward slot players.

If the casino can’t track your play, you won’t be able to earn free stuff. Believe it or not, these free adult drinks you deserve shave a tiny helping of the casino’s edge.

That means joining the slot club is good for your bottom line, not just your taste buds.

First of all, you can exchange Casino Club Card points for cash in most casinos, but only if you have collected a certain number of points. Most clubs offer € 20 for every 2,000 points or something like that.

These points really add up, and if you play high dollar games or make big pro spin bets you will be surprised how much money you can make. And cash is the easiest prize to redeem – accepted everywhere, recognized by everyone.

Of course, you can also use the casino slot’s Club Card points to receive free food and drinks. Don’t look down on these offers – the exchange rate is usually much friendlier than the exchange rate, so you can get a ton of goodies for very little bets. Note that club points can only be used to buy alcohol in some casinos – casinos are happy to dispense drinks for their own account. Hell, even if you only have the card, you often get a discount at a casino restaurant or bar.

The final reason you should join the slot club – you will receive coupons and other offers in the mail in exchange for your membership. These emails and letters contain coupons for cheap stays, free meals, or even free cash, depending on “how loyal you are,” that is, how much money you spent on your last trip.

Using these casinos is another way to turn the casino advantage. You are not going to fill your bank account with Casino Club Promotions, but it is better than leaving with nothing.
